This policy is written under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 — the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law. It describes what we actually do with your data, names every company that receives any of it, and says how long each kind is kept.

Who You Are Dealing With
YallaCalculators.online is operated by Varun Punjabi, who builds and runs the site personally from the UAE (Dubai/Sharjah). He is the person who decides what data this site collects and why — the data controller, in the language of the PDPL.
- It is an independent informational resource. It is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any bank, insurer, broker, developer or school.
- It is not a licensed financial institution and not a regulated adviser. There is no company, no financial licence and no regulator that authorises this site to give advice — because it does not give any. The calculators produce estimates for you to check; they are not a recommendation and nobody here reviews or approves anything.
- There is no intermediary business behind it. No broker, insurer, advisor or school network receives anything from this site, and no referral or commission arrangement exists.

The Law This Policy Is Written Under
Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data — the PDPL — is the law that governs how this site handles your personal data. Every right listed further down is tied to the Article of that law which gives it to you.
What we rely on to process anything
PDPL Art. 4 prohibits processing personal data without consent and then lists an exhaustive set of exceptions. There is no general "legitimate interest" ground in UAE law of the kind other jurisdictions have, so we cannot fall back on one and do not claim to. What each activity rests on:
- Running the calculators, and the records that come with using them — the service you asked for. You came here to get a number; producing it, and keeping the record of what was produced so the tools can be run and corrected, is that service.
- Analytics — your consent, and nothing else. Analytics stay switched off until you accept on the banner, and a GPC or Do Not Track signal counts as a decline. Withdraw it whenever you like in Cookie Settings.
- The newsletter — your consent, given by signing up, withdrawable from any email.
- Sending unrecognised merchant names for identification — your explicit consent, asked for separately, at the moment it would happen, while you are looking at the exact list. See Reading a Bank Statement below.
An honest note about how settled this is
The PDPL's Executive Regulations — the part that would set out procedures and deadlines — have never been issued, four years on. Where this page states a timescale, it is therefore our own commitment and not a legal requirement, and it says so each time. We would rather tell you that than dress a promise of ours up as the law.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for unrelated third-party marketing.
- We do not share your details with partners. There is no broker, insurer, advisor or school network behind this site, and nothing you send us is passed to one.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
Calculator Usage Data
Most calculations run in your browser (the UAE Loan Finder is the exception — see below), but when a calculator shows you a result we record the inputs you entered and the results shown — tied to a first-party identifier (see below) — in our database (Supabase calc_events). We use this to understand which tools are most helpful and to improve their accuracy. We do not share it with anyone outside YallaCalculators. These records are written server-side; our public key is insert-only and cannot read them back.
First-Party Identifier
We generate a random identifier and store it locally in your browser (localStorage yc_uid). It links your calculator activity, any contact-form submission, and newsletter signup so we can understand your journey and improve our tools. It is a first-party identifier — not a third-party advertising tracker — and it clears when you clear this site's data in your browser.
Email You Send Us
There is no contact form on this site and no page asks for your phone number. If you email us, we have whatever you chose to put in that email — normally your address and your question. Answering you is the only thing it is used for; it is not copied into a database and it is not passed to anyone.
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter we store three things: your email address, which page you signed up from, and the first-party identifier described above. That is what the signup endpoint sends and it is all it sends — no IP address, no name, no browser details.
One subscriber record predates the current signup endpoint and carries an IP address, captured by an older signup path we no longer run. Nothing reads it, nothing is built on it, and it is deleted on request or when we next clear that record — we are telling you it is there rather than describing the database we meant to build.
Technical Information
We automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited to maintain and improve our website.
Data Collection Practices
We follow privacy-by-design principles and collect only what is necessary to provide our services, improve our calculators, and comply with legal obligations. Most calculations run locally in your browser, the UAE Loan Finder excepted; the inputs you enter and the results shown are recorded in our database, tied to a first-party identifier, to improve the tools. They are not shared with any partner. Detailed practices are described in the sections below.
Reading a Bank Statement (Card Stack Builder)
The Card Stack Builder can read a bank or credit-card statement to fill in the spending questions for you, instead of you typing them. It is optional — every question can be answered by hand — and this is exactly what happens if you use it.
The file is read on your device and is never uploaded
- The file itself never leaves your device. It is opened in your browser, the transaction lines are pulled out there, and the file is never sent to us or to anyone else. We never receive it, so there is nothing for us to keep, and nothing to leak.
- Your name, card number, IBAN, balances and credit limit are discarded immediately as the lines are read, and are never used for anything. Account numbers are deleted outright rather than masked.
- Your name, your card number, your balances and your transaction dates never leave your device either — whatever else you choose.
- You see everything it found before it is used, on a review screen, and you can change any of it.
What does travel, and why we say so
The spending totals it works out for you do behave exactly like figures you type in yourself: when you build a stack, they are recorded with your result against your first-party identifier, in the same way every other calculator on this site records its inputs (see Client-Side Calculation & What We Record). We would rather point that out than let "never uploaded" imply more than it means.
The one thing that leaves the UAE, only if you ask for it
Some merchant descriptors on a UAE statement are abbreviated past recognition. On the review screen you can choose to send just the merchant names our dictionary did not recognise — the exact list shown to you, and nothing else — to Anthropic's Claude to identify which spending category each belongs to. Concretely:
- It is off unless you ask for it. It needs a second, separate tick on the review screen and then a button press. Decline and the tool behaves exactly as it did before this existed.
- Names only. The request carries a list of merchant names and nothing else — any other field in it is rejected outright rather than quietly ignored. Every name is re-checked on our server against the same rules the page applied, so an amount, a date or an account-number shape cannot travel even if something upstream went wrong.
- Nothing is logged, stored or cached — not by us, and not into any database. If the same merchant comes up next month, we ask again.
- This is a transfer outside the UAE, and it rests on your explicit consent, asked for at the moment it happens. See Sending Data Outside the UAE below.

Client-Side Calculation & What We Record
Your calculations run in your browser. When you use our calculators (mortgage affordability, property fees, gratuity, school fees, visa costs, etc.), the math is performed within your web browser using JavaScript, so results appear instantly without a server round-trip.
How It Works
The calculation itself is client-side. When a calculator shows you a result, we then record the inputs you entered and the results shown so we can run and improve the tools. Specifically, your calculator activity is:
- Calculated locally: the math runs in your browser using client-side code
- Recorded to improve the tools: the inputs you enter and the results shown are sent to and stored in our database (Supabase
calc_events), tagged with a first-party identifier - Access-controlled: these records are written server-side; our public key is insert-only and cannot read stored inputs, results, or leads back out
- Not shared with any partner: we use this activity to run and improve the calculators and for nothing else — no broker, insurer, advisor or school receives it (see "How We Use Your Information")
You can use our calculators without giving us your name or email — but note that the inputs and results are recorded against the first-party identifier described above. You can clear that identifier at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and you can ask us to delete your records by emailing info@

We do not share your contact details or your calculator activity with partners. There are no mortgage brokers, insurers, financial advisors or schools receiving anything from us, and no referral or commission arrangement exists — so there is nothing here to opt into or out of. We do not sell your personal information. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first and describe it on this page before it ships. You can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing info@
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use your email to send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing us.
Browser Privacy Signals (GPC and Do Not Track)
Some browsers and privacy extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal on your behalf. We read both, on every page, before anything is measured.
What happens when we see one
- We treat the signal exactly as if you had clicked Decline on our consent banner — it runs through the same code, so there is one behaviour and not two
- Analytics stay off: Google Analytics is never granted consent, so no analytics cookie is set and no pageview is recorded — and Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookie at all, is never loaded, so it records nothing either
- We record your choice in your browser so the banner does not ask you a question you have already answered
- The calculators keep working normally — a privacy signal changes what is measured, never what a calculator computes
A signal does not switch off the record we keep when a calculator shows you a result (described below) — that is how the tools are run and improved, not advertising. You can ask us to delete those records at any time.
How Calculations and Data Work
Financial calculators on YallaCalculators perform their computations locally in your browser using JavaScript, so results appear instantly. There is one exception, named below. To run and improve the tools, this means:
- For those calculators the calculation itself runs on your device, and our servers never see the figures being worked on
- The one exception is the UAE Loan Finder. It normally ranks lenders on your device from the rate list published on that same page, but when it cannot it sends the figures you entered — income, existing commitments, age, nationality, the amount and the property or car price — to our
loan-matchservice on Supabase, and the ranked result comes back from there - When a result is shown, the inputs you entered and the results are recorded in our database (Supabase
calc_events), tagged with a first-party identifier - These records are written server-side; our public key is insert-only and cannot read stored inputs, results, or leads back out
- Nothing is shared with a partner — no broker, insurer, advisor or school receives your details or your results (see "How We Use Your Information")
Transparency: You can inspect exactly what is sent by opening your browser's Developer Tools (Network tab) while using a calculator. On every calculator but one, the calculation runs client-side and the only request carrying your figures is the one to /api/event when a result is shown, tagged with your first-party identifier. On the UAE Loan Finder you may also see a request to /functions/v1/loan-match on our Supabase project — that is the exception described above, and it carries the figures you entered.
Data Protection & Security
Calculator Data
Most calculations run locally in your browser; the UAE Loan Finder can send your figures to our matching service instead, as described above. When a result is shown, the inputs and results are transmitted to and stored in our database (Supabase) to run and improve the tools; newsletter details are stored the same way.
Encryption
All data transmission is protected using industry-standard SSL encryption to prevent unauthorized access.
Access Controls
Records are written server-side using a public key that is insert-only and cannot read stored calculator events or leads back out. Broader access to stored information is limited to authorized personnel through strict access controls.
How Long We Keep Things
No UAE law requires us to keep any of this, so these limits are ours. We keep them short on purpose — data that is not held cannot be lost.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website and to improve user experience. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit our site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to our site. We use this information only to improve our website and services.
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Vercel Web Analytics
Our host, Vercel, offers a page-view counter that runs on the same servers that serve the site. We use it to see which pages people land on, what sent them there and where they go next — the on-site behaviour Search Console cannot show us.
It runs only if you accept. The collection script is not on the page at all until you click Accept on our banner; declining, or sending a GPC or Do Not Track signal, means it is never loaded and never records anything. It goes through the same consent code as Google Analytics, so there is one behaviour and not two.
When it does run, it records one entry per page you view: the time, the path, the referring page, filtered query parameters, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, your browser, operating system and device type, and a short-lived identifier Vercel derives from the request so repeat views within a day count as one visit. It sets no cookie and never sees your calculator inputs. Our plan guarantees a one-month reporting window; Vercel states it may hold the data longer than that. Consent Banner (Self-Built)
We run a self-built consent banner on your first visit. Analytics stay off until you accept. Your choice is recorded in your browser's local storage, and you can change it at any time in Cookie Settings. We use no third-party consent management platform.
Email Services
Email signup, when offered, is processed via a self-built Supabase edge function. We do not use Mailchimp or any other third-party marketing-automation provider for email storage or processing.
Hosting Services
Our website is hosted on secure servers to ensure availability and performance. Hosting providers may have access to server logs containing IP addresses and basic usage information.
Advertising
We run no advertising. There are no ad networks, no ad vendors and no advertising cookies on this site. If that ever changes, this policy will describe it before it ships.
These third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and are required to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Sending Data Outside the UAE
Every company below processes data outside the UAE. We are a UAE site, but the software that runs it is not UAE-hosted, and pretending otherwise would help nobody. This is the complete list — if a company is not on it, it receives nothing.
Vercel
What reaches them: Every request to this site, which necessarily includes your IP address and browser details.
Why: They host the site and serve every page. There is no version of running a website where the host does not see the request.
What we rely on to send it: Their published data-processing terms, which apply to us as their customer. We keep no separate copy of their request logs.
Supabase
What reaches them: What a calculator was shown, the inputs behind it, your first-party identifier, your newsletter email if you gave us one, and the first-touch campaign details described above.
Why: It is our database. This is where the records described on this page are written.
What we rely on to send it: Their published data-processing terms, which apply to us as their customer. The key the site publishes can only insert — it cannot read any of it back.
What reaches them: Analytics events — which pages were viewed, in a session tied to a Google analytics identifier. Never your calculator inputs.
Why: Google Analytics, so we can see which tools people actually use.
What we rely on to send it: Your consent, asked for on the banner before anything is measured, and withdrawable at any time in Cookie Settings. Decline — or send a GPC or Do Not Track signal — and no analytics event reaches Google. One page, our credit-cards comparison, still opens a connection to Google’s font servers before the banner is answered; that reveals your IP address to Google and nothing else, it measures nothing, and it is being removed by 18 September 2026.
Vercel Web Analytics
What reaches them: One record per page you view: the time, the path, the referring page, filtered query parameters, an approximate location derived from your IP address (country, region, city), your operating system, browser and device type — and a short-lived identifier Vercel derives from the request itself so repeat views within a day can be counted as one visit. Never your calculator inputs, and no cookie is set in your browser.
Why: Page-level behaviour we cannot see anywhere else — which pages people land on, what sent them and where they go next. Search Console shows what happened before the click; this shows what happened after it.
What we rely on to send it: Your consent — the same Accept as Google Analytics, on the same banner, read from the same code. Decline, or send a GPC or Do Not Track signal, and the collection script is never loaded at all. Vercel’s own documentation says the stored records are not tied to an IP address; Vercel does still see your IP in the request itself, exactly as it does for every page it serves us.
Anthropiconly if you ask
What reaches them: A list of merchant names from your statement that our dictionary did not recognise — the exact list shown to you on the review screen, and nothing else. No amounts, no dates, no account details, no name.
Why: To identify which spending category each unrecognised merchant belongs to, so the Card Stack Builder does not dump them all into "Everything else" and recommend the wrong card.
What we rely on to send it: Your explicit consent, asked for on the review screen while you are looking at the exact list that would be sent. It is off unless you ask for it, and declining leaves the tool working exactly as it did before this existed.
Why we do not claim an adequacy decision
PDPL Art. 22 allows a transfer to a country the UAE has designated as offering adequate protection. No such list has ever been published, so no site can honestly say its transfers are covered by it — and we do not. What remains are the Art. 23 routes, and each transfer above says which one it rests on: your explicit consent for the two that are genuinely optional (analytics, and the merchant-name step), and the providers' own contractual data-processing terms for the two that are not (hosting and the database — a website cannot run without a host, and a record cannot be written without somewhere to write it).
We are not going to claim we hold bespoke PDPL-specific contracts with each of them; we hold the standard terms each publishes, which is what a site this size actually has. Being straight about that is worth more than an assurance you cannot check.
Your Rights Under the PDPL
Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 gives you the rights below. They are yours by law, not by our permission, and exercising any of them costs nothing.
- To be told what we do with your data (Art. 13) — What we hold, why we hold it, who else receives it, and how to complain. That is what this page is for — if it does not answer your question, ask us and we will answer it.
- To receive a copy, and to have it moved (Art. 14) — A copy of the personal data you gave us, in a structured, machine-readable format.
- To have it corrected or erased (Art. 15) — Correction of anything inaccurate or incomplete, and erasure of what we hold. The Article sets no deadline — it says "without undue delay" — so the timing we commit to below is ours, not a statutory one.
- To have processing restricted (Art. 16) — To have us stop processing while a correction request or an objection is being dealt with.
- To object (Art. 17) — Including an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Our only marketing is the newsletter you have to ask for, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- To object to automated processing (Art. 18) — We make no automated decision that produces a legal effect for you. The calculators compute a number and show it to you; nothing decides anything about you, and no human reviews or approves anything either.
- To a channel that actually works (Art. 19) — One address, read by the person who runs the site: info@yallacalculators.online.

If you want to complain to someone other than us
Art. 13 gives you the right to know how to complain to the regulator, so here is the honest position. The data-protection office the PDPL contemplates never became fully operational. In practice the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority has been the contact point for this, and in June 2026 its functions were absorbed by the Federal Authority for Artificial Intelligence and Data. Because the Executive Regulations have never been issued, there is no prescribed complaints procedure to point you at. If you want to escalate past us, that federal authority is where to start — and we would rather tell you that than send you to a form that might not be there.
Browser privacy signals
We read the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) signals your browser sends and treat either one as a Decline: analytics are never granted consent for your visit, and we remember that so the banner does not ask again. See Browser Privacy Signals (GPC and Do Not Track) above for exactly what that does and does not cover. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising in any case — we run no advertising.
Children
This site is built for adults planning their own finances — mortgages, gratuity, visas, school fees, credit cards. It is not aimed at children and nothing on it is designed to appeal to them.
- We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, and we would not ask for it, without a parent or guardian's verifiable consent.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us something, email info@
yallacalculators.online and we will delete it. You can withdraw that consent at any time, the same way. - The site should be used by someone 18 or over, or with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Federal Decree-Law No. 26 of 2025 on Child Digital Safety, in force since 1 January 2026, treats anyone under 18 as a child and applies to platforms operating in or directed at UAE users.
If You Are Outside the UAE
This site is built for UAE residents and this policy is written under UAE law. If you are somewhere else, your own local law may give you rights beyond the ones listed above. We will honour a verified request wherever you are — access, a copy, correction, deletion — rather than argue about which statute applies. Email info@
How to Manage Your Privacy Preferences
You can control how your data is handled on our site. Here are the available options:
Option 1: Cookie Settings (Recommended)
- Open Cookie Settings on our Cookie Policy page
- It shows whether analytics are currently on or off, and why
- Click Turn analytics off to disable first-party analytics (or Allow analytics to switch them on)
- Your choices are stored in your browser and respected immediately
Option 2: Browser Do Not Track (DNT) Signal
Enable Do Not Track in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies → Send a "Do Not Track" request
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enable "Send websites a Do Not Track signal"
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Check "Ask websites not to track me"
We read this signal on every page and treat it as a Decline, through the same code the Decline button uses. It is a browser-wide setting, and not all websites honour it.
Option 3: Request Data Deletion
If you want us to permanently delete all your data:

- We aim to confirm deletion within 30 days. That is our own commitment: UAE law sets no deadline for this, and we are not going to borrow another country's to sound more official

Every published version carries a version identifier next to the date at the top of the page — this one is 2026.08.27-1 — so a specific version can be pointed at later rather than everyone arguing about what the page said last March. Material changes get a new date and a new version, and we describe a new use of your data here before it ships, not after.
